An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a Mental Health strategic lead at Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council. 

We are looking for someone with operational experience, leadership skills, motivation, and drive, to work closely with the existing Senior Management Team within the Adult Care and Integration Service, alongside our NHS colleagues at the Integrated Care Board and within primary and secondary care. This post holder will offer management across the social care mental health teams.

You will have proven operational and managerial experience and the ability to identify and manage principal risks to achieve objectives.  You will also have over all management of the Approved mental Health Professional (AMHP) role.  

It is essential that you can demonstrate a working understanding of the current position and developments relating to the Mental Health Act, Care Act and Mental Capacity Act.  You will also require knowledge of National Mental Health Drivers for change alongside a commitment to implementing a personalised approach and strength based creative practice.

You will contribute to the management of performance in relation to key indicators, ensuring the ethos and principles of the local authority statutory duties and principles of the Care Act and continue to ensure that these will be embedded into the day-to-day work of teams and will be a critical part of the governance of the new ways of working.  

The role will involve working closely with both internal and external partners and stakeholders to effect change and deliver a more integrated approach within the current climate of financial challenge across the public sector.
