Cheshire East boasts stunning countryside, thriving towns, and excellent transport connections. But beyond the picture postcard image lies a rich tapestry of communities, each with its own story. With 400,000 residents, we're a borough of contrasts, and with a proud industrial heritage alongside pockets of social deprivation.

With a new Leader, Deputy Leader, and Chief Executive in place, the council is embarking on a major reset to ensure our financial sustainability and protect essential services.

And this is where you come in, as our Director of Public Health. You'll lead the charge in implementing our innovative health and care blueprint. We're talking about creating healthy households, healthy neighbourhoods, and a future where everyone has the opportunity to flourish.

We're determined to emerge as a stronger, more innovative council, so you need to be a transformative leader, as we embark on a bold journey to close the gap between our healthiest and wealthiest residents and those that are poor and unwell. Ultimately, this is about our communities and residents, and we are well ahead of the pack with our Care Communities and integrated health and care blueprint.

You'll have the qualifications and technical expertise to tackle complex challenges and be a passionate advocate for reducing health inequalities. But most importantly, you'll need vision, strategic leadership, and able to forge powerful partnerships across the council, healthcare system, and the wider community.

If you’re excited to be part of a transformative journey and ready to rise to the challenge, then please see https://starfishsearch.com/jobs/dir-of-pub-health-ce/ or contact Luke Judd at Starfish Search: luke.judd@starfishsearch.com
