This is a great career development opportunity for an experienced Educational Psychologist to help lead an established and highly valued Community Educational and Child Psychology team; we are expanding and evolving to meet the demands and needs of a diverse population.

As Senior ECP and Area Team Manager, you will work alongside another Senior ECP/Area Team Manager as part of the Sandwell Educational and Child Psychology Team.

This is set within a multi-disciplinary service (Inclusion Support) with an outstanding reputation amongst schools for making a difference. The service is a welcoming, warm and friendly place to work.

The Inclusion Support Service comprises of a range of different teams each providing specialised support services to the community, ensuring systemic working practices, training and school improvement initiatives being carried out across the Local Authority to meet the needs of a range of children, young people and their families. 

As a Senior Educational and Child Psychologist, you will provide professional line management to a smaller team of ECPs and as an Area Team Manager you will provide operational management to a locality based multidisciplinary team.

About you

  • We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly skilled psychologist to work within our supportive and collaborative leadership team who can motivate, lead and manage a team to a high standard.
  • This includes carrying out appraisals and general supervision of the ECP team to ensure that wellbeing is promoted and that the team is constantly developing. 
  • We are looking for an individual with the ability to work strategically and innovatively across the local authority with a range of professionals and organisations to maintain positive and successful working relationships. 

Requirements

  • Degree in Psychology recognised by British Psychological Society (BPS).
  • Post graduate qualification in Educational Psychology at Masters or Doctoral level (recognised by BPS).
