There’s never been a more exciting time to join Doncaster Council.

We are passionate about Doncaster - it’s a great place to live, do business and visit.

We have plenty to shout about – Doncaster is the UK’s best connected location, we have many major developments in the pipeline, a vibrant urban centre with a thriving arts and cultural scene, sport and leisure attractions, wonderful green spaces and a fascinating heritage.  We firmly believe, as do our partners, that Doncaster is the place to be with a bright future and ambitions ahead of it.  But don’t just take our word for it – anyone joining the council, can look forward to expanding their knowledge and skills in a dynamic, creative and nurturing environment while truly making a difference to the communities we serve.

We are currently recruiting for a Kinship and Private Fostering Team Manager based in the Fostering Service for Doncaster Children’s Services.

Our Kinship Service works with family and friends of children and their families, offering a variety of assessments and support. Leading a group of social workers, you will be working collaboratively with colleagues across the department and with other partners. Your team will deliver high-quality and responsive social work to kinship/connected persons, carers, and special guardians as well as overseeing private fostering assessments. You will ensure delivery of services are monitored and evaluated, and reflect a responsive, high quality, customer and outcome focused service to children, young people, fostering families and partner agencies.

The role requires someone who is a qualified social worker and is experienced in supervising and/or mentoring staff. You will work closely with mainstream fostering teams and across Doncaster Children’s Services to embed good and outstanding practice for the children and young people of Doncaster.

Further details about the responsibilities and requirements of the role are contained in the Job description and person specification.

In return for your hard work and dedication, we can offer you the chance to be part of a great team dedicated to ensuring that all people in Doncaster thrive. You will also have access to a variety of attractive employee benefits including competitive leave entitlement, local government pension scheme and access to a range of staff discount and flexible benefits schemes.
