The Role

Reporting to the Assistant Director for Employment & Skills, this is a leadership role, providing additional capacity at a senior level, helping us shape and grow the economy including the development of key sectors across the borough.   

You will lead on developing and delivering the Council’s Inclusive Economy Strategy, working strategically across services, with stakeholders and partners at a local, sub-regional London and national level to achieve defined outcomes benefiting our residents.

You’ll manage the team responsible for developing economic policy and analysis, the development and implementation of local economy programmes as well as opportunities for external funding.

About You

You will bring expert knowledge and experience of economic strategy and policy in a local government context and will identify how we can deliver the Council’s missions including economic growth. 

You will have excellent organisation and data skills to ensure an evidence based approach to your work. 

You will have significant experience of developing and delivering programmes that support positive outcomes.
