At Bury Council we are ambitious as a stock owning authority to deliver safe and secure homes for our residents, fostering vibrant neighbourhoods where tenants are at the heart of our communities. We have reacquired our stock of nearly 8,000 homes, and it is our vision to transform how we work to be a social landlord of choice, creating places where individuals aspire to live. We want housing to be an integral part of our council services, at the heart of supporting residents to lead healthy, fulfilling lives, and be central to our wider ambitions of inclusive growth and regeneration.

This is one of four key roles in our team that are integral to shaping our vision to build a service that is tenant focused, is fit for purpose and ensure that our homes are safe and meet decent homes standards, where we support those that are most in need.

The safety of our tenants is core to our vison for housing services in Bury, ensuring that residents live in homes that are not only regulatory compliant but where people feel secure and are proud of. As Head of Building Safety, you will plan, specify, procure and manage maintenance and remedial works programmes for gas, electrical, waster, asbestos, lifts and damp. You will ensure our compliance activities and reporting processes are robust, and that remedial action is completed swiftly and effectively, in a customer centred way that builds confidence and trust with our tenants.

This is a unique opportunity to join us at a key point in Bury’s journey, delivering a vision where social housing empowers residents to be part of our borough’s ambitions for the future. You will; We are seeking a values-driven individual who is passionate about our vision, who believes in the power of what we are trying to achieve
