As a member of the Leadership Team of EEI, you will be tasked with providing Members with professional advice on growth, managing an expanding economic development portfolio, and leading the county council’s statutory planning functions, as well as the council’s strategies for climate change and waste. You will also have responsibility for libraries and registration across the county.

Directing a high-performing team that is keen to deliver even more, you will take the lead in developing strategic policy with a variety of partners and stakeholders (including district councils, and central government) to:

  • Support the sustainable growth of existing employers
  • Promote the county and its assets to generate inward investment and subsequent job creation
  • Enable the development of businesses, shops, leisure facilities and 100,000 new homes over the next 30 years in the most sustainable way.
  • Deliver long-term sustainable waste solutions and lead the council response to Climate Change.

Candidates

This is an exciting role of extraordinary scope and potential and calls for a professional with in-depth expertise and experience in strategic economic development, planning and regeneration and/or environmental sustainability and waste management.

The right person will have a proven ability to develop influential working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and partners, in both political and business environments.
