We’re looking for a top-of-the-class lawyer with the ability to work at pace on the full range of issues. As well as

advising the City Mayor, Council and Cabinet on major decisions, you’ll be
the lead client on the legal services contract we hold with Manchester City Council, ensuring we optimise our spend and carefully manage both the volumes and categories of demand. Governance currently works well, but can always

be better; so you’ll bring extensive knowledge of best practice and a collaborative approach to improvement.

This is a senior, visible, corporate leadership role, so you must be able to make a confident and assured

contribution at every level. Salford has a major growth agenda, so expertise
in housing or regeneration would be
an advantage. A truly solutions-
focused mindset is essential, as are the leadership skills to manage and develop an expert team of around 70. If you’re ambitious to progress your career, this could be the perfect springboard.
