Are you a dedicated leader with a strong background in housing repairs? Join the Royal Borough of Greenwich as a Voids Repairs Manager and oversee the transformation of void properties, ensuring they are fit for purpose and ready for new tenants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Voids Process: Oversee the entire process of void properties from handover to completion, ensuring timely, high-quality repairs within budget.
- Lead a Skilled Team: Direct a large, multi-disciplinary team to achieve service priorities, staff development, and excellent customer care.
- Budget and Resource Management: Strategically manage budgets and resources to ensure cost-effective operations and value for money.
- Ensure Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation and ensure all work meets health and safety standards.
- Collaborate Effectively: Work with various departments to ensure smooth operations and effective service delivery.
Person Specification:
- Knowledge:
- Comprehensive knowledge of managing trade staff within a housing repair setting.
- Extensive experience in enabling roles of local authorities for delivering affordable housing.
- Understanding of housing strategy, investment programmes, and working with external partners.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Strong ability to delegate effectively while maintaining organisational control of the Voids Team.
- Substantial experience in a senior housing environment role within a similar organisation.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and implement improved working methods.
- Proficient stakeholder management, both internally and externally.
- Experience in housing strategy, preparation of investment programmes, and collaboration with external partners.
- Competent in budget planning, financial cost modelling, and life cycle costing.
- Experience:
- Significant experience in the enabling roles of local authorities in delivering affordable housing.
- Familiarity with housing and relevant legislative, regulatory, budgetary, and funding frameworks, including government priorities.
