This is an exciting time to be joining Gateshead Council as Dale Owens – our former DASS – has recently been appointed as our new Chief Executive and an overall restructure of the Adult Social Care, Integrated Adults and Social Care Services team is now almost complete. This role will focus on Locality, Prevention and Discharge, and Enablement and Independence Services and is the final piece in the jigsaw. You’ll be joining a strong leadership team who together will ensure that we deliver the improvements needed to address the challenges facing adult social care.

In this role you will also be a key member of our senior leadership team, making an important contribution to the overall leadership, delivery, and strategic resource management of Gateshead Council.

This exciting role will put you right at the forefront of managing the assessment of need, care and safeguarding of adults to the highest standards so that we can promote independent living, choice and control. Working closely with our Members and leadership colleagues, as a highly credible and skilled practitioner, you will have considerable experience of delivering in the adult care or integrated health and care environment. With demonstrable continuing professional development, you’ll bring a strong understanding of the national policy context for adult social care, health and care system dynamics, service reform, and transformational change.
