We are looking for an experienced commissioning and partnership manager in an Adult Social care or related field and excellent performance and resource management experience.
What will be expected from me?
The purpose of this role is to lead on the development, implementation and performance management of a range of grant funding and contractual arrangements across independent sector providers and the voluntary and community sector. Supervising a small team of commissioning leads to: -
- To both strengthen and maximise local community assets to create new commissioning and funding opportunities available for the voluntary and community sector
- To develop effective links with key organisations, including health, voluntary and community sector
- To promote quality improvement in adult social care services and deliver more strength-based outcomes for people to live independently people in their own communities
- To do this you will work collaboratively with a range of partners, taking a strategic lead on the design, development, implementation and commissioning of a range of personalised and preventative approaches
What I might be doing?
- You will be working within the Commissioning team for Adult social care in a friendly team passionate about delivering excellent service provision for the citizens of Wakefield.
- You will lead a small team of commissioning leads to ensure robust and safely commissioned services, looking to review and evaluate the effectiveness of the review of commissioning arrangements with independent and voluntary sector providers
- You will work to the Service Manager and with the older people’s and learning disabilities Senior commissioning managers to assist in the operational and strategic development and management of the commissioning team
- You will present reports to the Senior Leadership Team for approvals when developing service provision for the independent and VCSE sector, ensuring risk management and value for money are considered as part of these commissioning activities
- You will have a tight oversight of the budgets and funding arrangements for the independent and VSCE grant funding agreements
Essential requirements
- Educated to degree level, qualification in a relevant field, NVQ Level 5, or equivalent management experience
- An understanding of national Health and Social care policies and strategies
- Experience of leading on the review and commissioning of services or support including undertaking procurement/tendering exercises and managing risk
- Extensive experience of partnership working including with the community and voluntary sector
- Evidence of proven success in co-producing changes or services with a range of stakeholders
- Ability to manage resources effectively
- Experience of managing staff and developing high performance teams
