The Outdoor & Leisure team are looking for an enthusiastic person to provide operational contract management for the Council’s leisure and sports facilities and associated contracts across Westmorland and Furness to meet the needs of the communities.

A key part of this role will work closely with the team and strategic partners to oversee the shaping and delivery of community leisure and an active wellbeing offer to ensure the key priorities set out in the delivery framework are achieved while to providing effective contract management and technical expertise to ensure services continue to be delivered effectively and remain customer focused, innovative, and efficient.

The council is developing a leisure and active wellbeing strategy for Westmorland and Furness which sets out a strategic approach to the sport, leisure and physical activity provision moving from a traditional leisure offer to support an active wellbeing, a key part of the role will work to identify and deliver local priorities, to create a closer relationship between health and leisure built on increased physical activity, supporting mental wellbeing, social prescribing, co-location of services and reducing social isolation through working with our providers to deliver preventative activity opportunities.
