About this opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Outdoor & Leisure to deliver our Parks, Open spaces and Cemeteries services.

The post holder will deliver strategic leadership to the deliver vibrant, diverse and high-quality parks, open spaces and play amenities and a compassionate bereavement service. Through the development of a parks and open spaces strategy, you will deliver the service in line with the strategy alongside looking for opportunities to increase service sustainability. This role will identify and deliver local priorities, create closer relationships between our communities and our services.

A key element of the role will be to provide effective team management and technical expertise to the team throughout Westmorland and Furness to ensure service performance is delivered efficiently and remain customer focused and innovative.

The post holder must ensure that statutory duties are properly discharged and ensure that performance and risks are managed in line with statutory responsibilities.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with extensive knowledge of the parks, playgrounds and cemeteries services combined with effective management skills to guide our approach to developing and delivering projects. Experience in measuring service outputs and performance are vital to ensure our communities are at the heart of what we do.
