About this opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Team Manager post as part of the Care Experienced Team based in South Lakes and Eden Children & Young People District.
The Care Experienced team is part of Westmorland and Furness’ permanence service which provides support and advice to Care Leavers aged 16-25 as they make the transition from care to independence.
You will assist our capable team by influencing, encouraging, leading and managing your team through supportive and challenging supervision and will ensure that service delivery reflects good practice guidance derived from research and Ofsted inspections.
You will also lead the drive in ensuring young adults have high quality pathway plans that reflect their voice and their wishes and feelings and which they have co-produced.
For this role you will need to be focussed on the needs of young adults leaving care in relation to their employment/education and training, their health needs and their emotional support needs. You will also have an excellent understanding of the legislation, good practice guidance and research pertaining to young adults leaving care.
In addition, you should have an understanding/desire to learn more regarding our approach to Signs of Safety and its relevance and use in care experienced work, especially regarding supporting young adults to make positive links with the family networks. You should understand the importance of helping young adults understand their story both in care and before care.
You must have excellent budget management skills and because we have performance data specific to our care experienced team that you will analyse to drive through improvements and improved practices, you should be able to understand and use performance data.

This role requires an enhanced DBS check with a Children’s and Adults Barred List check. Please note this role involves working in regulated activity with Children and Adults.
