About you
Ahead of the retirement of our Head of Finance later this year, we’re looking for a very special sort of Finance person to replace them. It goes without saying that you’ll be able to do all the usual Finance things - accounts, budgets, medium term financial strategies. You’ll be commercially astute, and IT literate. But we also want to find someone who is curious, supports and empowers teams, and is a great colleague who will form an important part of our Leadership Team. Pace is important. Building trusting relationships is important. Being able to communicate complex financial issues to a wide range of audiences is important.
About us
South Cambridgeshire District Council is an exciting place to work. Led by innovative and forward-thinking councillors, and an exceptionally capable Leadership Team, our Business Plan is both focused and ambitious. We are at the heart of one of the most economically successful and fastest growing areas in the country, which offers opportunities and challenges. Driven by providing excellent services for our current residents and businesses, and great places for new communities to live, work and play, we are Ambitious, Collaborative, Compassionate and Accountable – these are our recently adopted values, and we want them to guide everything we do. We will offer you a friendly and lively environment, where we face challenges as a team, and celebrate successes together. We work hard to make work enjoyable – because we believe that’s when people do their best work.
For an informal conversation, please contact the Chief Executive, Liz Watts, on 07594 510959
