The Role
Reporting to the Director Commercial, Change and Portfolio Delivery, the Head of Impact and Reporting is ultimately responsible for the ‘So what...’ question. You will lead the impact team who provide evidence-based research and evaluation and you will undertake assessments that help understand the wider picture. You will take responsibility for the design and implementation of effective monitoring and processes that communicate the impact of the Corporation’s outcomes. The role is responsible for embedding ESG principles across our systems and develop a comprehensive benefits management framework.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership throughout the division including research and innovation, evaluation and impact and the development of strategic partnerships.
- Establish a brand-new function developing a clear value proposition, gaining traction throughout the Corporation, and establishing credibility.
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and engaging information on outcomes and impact for reporting.
- Oversee the benefits management framework, embedding Environmental, Societal and Corporate Governance considerations, and evidencing impact.
- Ensure a robust reporting framework tat facilitates timely and accurate commercials and project reporting to Senior Officers and Elected Members.
- Take the lead on Divisional service and business partnering planning ensuring strategic vision is translated into clear objectives supported by performance measures.
- Ensure an innovative research and analysis mindset is at thew forefront of the Division, driving evidence-based decision making.
- Use evidence and data to create stories and case studies to best communicate impact.
- Champion responsible procurement and social value using evidence to identify areas of priority for the City of London Corporation
- Represent the Corporation on external networks and forums.
- Work as a senior member of the Commercial, Change and Portfolio Delivery management team, driving excellent customer standards and facilitate departmental collaboration.
About you
You will be the kind of individual that asks why we do what we do? Do we just follow processes as they have always been done this way or can we commercialise our approach and learn and implement new forward-thinking processes to ensure a data driven impactful approach.
- You will hold a professional qualification within project / programme management.
- Experience leading the monitoring, evaluation and learning within an organisation.
- Substantial experience presenting data analysis to senior stakeholders, including both quantitative and qualitative data.
- Proven ability and comfort in influencing senior leadership through story telling.
- Experience in budget management, planning and getting the best out of your teams through coaching, guidance, and development.
- You will be research focussed leader that puts both the customer and user experience at heart by translating complex data into crafting stories and insights.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- You will hold a strong understanding of procurement principles and social return on investment.
- This role will require you to have a high level of data visualisation skills such as Power BI or Tableau to create creative dashboards that accurately communicate insights to stakeholders.
