This is an exciting time to join London Borough of Harrow.

Following a review of the Place Directorate and the subsequent creation of a new leadership team, we are now seeking two Assistant Directors and a number of other senior Management roles to join us and lead our services.

The role

We are seeking an exceptional senior leader to provide strategic and operational direction to a range of property and maintenance services to the Council owned and managed homes. You will ensure the Council’s investment in its homes deliver the highest levels of health and safety compliance, maximise the number of decent homes and the very best responsive repairs services. You will be a key member of the wider Place Directorate management team and display political acumen as well as having expert knowledge of the functional areas within your remit. You will provide an innovative, commercially astute and collaborative leadership approach.

Reporting to the Director of Housing, you’ll be responsible for resident satisfaction with the council’s housing stock.

Leading teams across Asset Management, Investment Planning, Major Works & Responsive Repairs you’ll be tasked with:

  • Increasing levels of resident satisfaction in repairs and major works. Increasing the number of homes designated decent. Enhancing the asset information that the council holds to inform data-driven investment decisions. Reducing the number of disrepair claims.


This role calls for a residential housing professional with a track record of delivering major works, cyclical and responsive repair and housing improvement programmes, who can work corporately to deliver better outcomes for residents.
