This is an excellent short-term opportunity to join the Governance Team at Wyre Council working as the Council’s Electoral Services Manager. Your main role will be to manage and deliver all electoral processes, including the administration and organisation of all electoral processes including Parish, Local, County, Parliamentary, European and the Police and Crime Commissioner elections. The postholder will also manage and oversee the annual canvas and the mayoralty service. 

Due to this being a short-term placement (minimum six months), the successful applicant will be expected to hit the ground running and therefore have extensive knowledge and experience of the electoral processes of a Local Government electoral function and also have extensive experience of the use of the Xpress Elections and Electoral Registration IT system or a similar system.

The postholder must have worked at a managerial level before or feel they are capable of working at this level and are looking for a short-term opportunity, for example a temporary secondment.

The postholder must have excellent personal communication, both verbal and written and have the ability to work unsupervised at pace but with accuracy and often to tight conflicting deadlines.
