Do you want to deliver the first new build Council Homes for Merton in a generation? Are you passionate about building sustainable, good quality homes? We are looking for outstanding candidates for a brand new role: Head of Housing Development.

This role will set up a new team in Merton to deliver new housing on an already identified pipeline of council-owned sites, and drive forward the long-term regeneration of Morden town centre.

It is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious, innovative development professional to create a team and drive a new agenda for our council.

There is room and opportunity for this role to take responsibility for defining the overall programme, and seeing it through to handing over much-needed properties to our residents.

We are looking for an individual with experience of successful direct delivery on small to medium sites, and partnership delivery on larger sites.

You will have delivered schemes of exemplary design, ideally with innovative sustainability features, such as ‘Passive House’. You will have a strong grip of creating viable business plans for sites, and excellent experience of managing delivery partners to complete to time, quality and budget.
