Following the planned retirement of the current post holder, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Senior Leadership Team as a Financial Services Group Manager (Deputy S151 Officer).
Working to the Executive Director (S151 Officer), the post holder as part of our Senior Leadership Team will be in a key leadership role overseeing the Council’s Finance Team, Fraud & Risk, Revenues & Benefits and Income & Recovery services. The successful applicant joins the Council at an exciting time and will lead the finance team to support the organisation to deliver its ambitious corporate plan whilst ensuring the Council remains financially sustainable for the future.
As Deputy S151 Officer you will have the responsibility to ensure that the Council, its officers, and its Elected Councillors, have a good understanding of the Council’s finances and the Council retains its reputation of being financially well managed.
We are looking for an individual who is passionate, driven, and forward-thinking, who can work collaboratively with stakeholders. The successful candidate will be CCAB qualified or have extensive relevant local government finance experience. You will be passionate about sharing your knowledge with a committed and dedicated finance team and be an accomplished communicator. You will be an integral part of the Senior Leadership Team, working across the organisation on corporate initiatives and will enjoy working in a supportive environment and culture.

Assessment Centre Day at the Council offices: 21 March 2024
Shortlisted applicants will be asked to complete a written exercise/test prior to the assessment centre day. The assessment centre will involve a series of exercises which you will be required to take part in.
