Help tackle rough sleeping and anti-social behaviour in a high-profile London borough.

The Role:

Joining our friendly, supportive team, you’ll co-ordinate and manage operations for our Street Population Outreach Team (SPOT), who aim to end rough sleeping in Kensington and Chelsea for good. This includes monitoring the team’s day-to-day work, prioritising their workload and developing sustainable pathways for rough sleepers who aren’t local to the borough. 

The role is highly varied and challenging. You’ll need to assess the complex mental health needs of our users and develop a SPOT response that fulfils the statutory requirements of the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017. On top of this, you’ll oversee the operation of our Severe Weather Emergency Protocol and make sure all our data is relevant and up to date for use across our management systems.

Ultimately, you’ll be helping shape our borough for the better by developing frameworks to prevent rough sleeping and will oversee the Councils day to day offer to reduce rough sleeping/ You will be involved in areas such as anti-social behaviour and complex needs situations that may involve drugs, alcohol and mental health. What’s more, you’ll be joining us as we receive significant funding to boost innovation across our service, helping us tackle our high-profile agenda more efficiently than ever.

About You:

You might come from a role in mental health, a relevant charity, the prison service or a local authority, but what counts is solid experience in managing workloads, developing partnerships and dealing with vulnerable service users. 

A wide knowledge base including relevant legislation, policy, and the housing needs of rough sleepers is vital, as are good communication and organisational skills. You should have a degree or the equivalent experience in an appropriate subject.
