The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Bolton’s Adult Safeguarding & DoLS Team. As Team Manager you will be responsible for the operational management of a Borough wide Adult Safeguarding & DoLS Team.

You will provide professional guidance and leadership to ensure effective and proportionate responses to safeguarding concerns and oversee the DoLS function.

You will have experience and knowledge of the statutory duties under the Care Act 2014, specifically in relation to Safeguarding and DoLS. You will be required to Chair safeguarding meetings particularly where the individual and organisational risks are high.

You will support the Head of Service to ensure the Department meets its statutory and legal requirements, review, develop and evaluate policies and procedures.

About You

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual who has a passion for adult’s work and specifically this service area. You will have an excellent understanding of safeguarding issues, DoLS processes and the needs of our customers.

You will have experience of managing statutory social work services and commitment to developing quality services, working closely with colleagues, carers and other partners. You will be an excellent communicator who is able to build and strengthen relationships with our partners to take the service forward.

You will have an understanding of relevant and future legislation, guidance and good practice.

You will be resilient, adaptable and capable of working effectively with colleagues from other professional disciplines.

You will be able to produce reports to an excellent standard, and deliver accurate and concise information verbally, in written form and where necessary in court and coroners court.
