Team Manager - Family Support Services

Employer
Northumberland County Council
Location
Northumberland
Salary
£49,249 - £52,686
Closing date

Are you passionate about Early Help and Prevention work? Do you want to work in an ambitious local authority with strong leadership and partnership commitment to early help? Northumberland is on a continuous improvement journey in relation to its Early Help service. We are supporting further investment to build upon our successful and well-regarded services.

‘Early help is of good quality and engages children and families in purposeful assessments that recommend what interventions and services will best meet their needs. As a result, children’s experiences improve and the need for statutory intervention is avoided.’ (Ofsted ILACS inspection 2020)

Northumberland has adopted a hybrid working model with postholders able to work at home and in allocated offices. We offer an essential car user allowance to staff who are eligible and a range of other benefits to support staff.

Northumberland is on a continuous journey in relation to its Northumberland Family Services (NFS). NFS is a group of support services which includes Children’s Centres, Early Help Family Workers and our Edge of Care and Supervised Contact teams. We are also gearing up to the establishment of Family Hubs across our large geographically diverse county

We are looking to appoint a dynamic team manager for our Northumberland Families First (edge of care) and Family Time (supervised contact) teams. The postholder will be educated to degree level and be a qualified and registered social worker. Training and experience in Family Group Conferencing is also desirable. You will lead and manage services which support the delivery of Children's Social Work and have an oversight of the children and families to assess their needs and plan and deliver services in accordance with statutory duties.

This is an exciting time in the journey of Family Support Services working closely with Early Help and Prevention services and practitioners on new initiatives planned to ensure integrated working with a range of partners, including social workers, clinical health practitioners, and families.   We are looking for an enthusiastic leader with a proven ability to work across organisations and agencies to drive the development of our Family Support response
