Bath & North East Somerset Council seeks an inspirational Development Lead in the Enterprise Zone regeneration team, to take responsibility and lead the delivery of key projects and workstreams through the project life. The Enterprise Zone capital programme currently totals circa £120m in provisional and approved activities that will leave a lasting legacy for the City and surrounding towns.

To act as a lead officer, commissioning and overseeing delivery of a range of major commercial and residential land projects, within the Enterprise Zone regeneration team. You will be able to demonstrate an established technical expertise across the complex regeneration development lifecycle, including procurement, master planning, business case writing, engagement and consultation, land acquisition via negotiation and statutory mechanisms, and a knowledge or experience in Argus or equivalent is preferable.

Activities will involve leading the procurement of multidisciplinary project teams, leading and co-ordinating delivery strategies, securing funding and engaging with professionals within the regeneration and development industry to commission and secure development outcomes in Bath and North East Somerset in accordance with the Council’s Vision & Values, Strategy, Policy and other objectives.

Bath & North East Somerset lies between the Cotswold and Mendip areas of outstanding natural beauty. The city of Bath is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, built around Britain’s only thermal springs.

This role offers the opportunity for blended working and the post-holder will be expected to spend part of their week working from home. Office time will be mainly spent in our award-winning, modern Civic Centre in Keynsham, halfway between Bath and Bristol, easily accessible on public transport, with a train station 5 minutes’ walk away. Hot desking workspaces are also available in the Guildhall, Bath and Midsomer Norton.
