The Role

Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager, Service Improvement and Efficiency, the Project Team Leader will be responsible for managing an ambitious project programme across Education and Skills and Children’s Safeguarding and Family Support. 

As part of the implementation of the Council’s Transformation Programme, this post will be integral to the delivery of strategic and operational change and improvement across Children’s Services.

This will entail:

  • Developing and implementing high priority projects to ensure the delivery of improved service outcomes, value for money and financial savings;
  • Developing and embedding improvement and innovation initiatives;
  • Leading on effective communications both within and outside of the service. 

In this role, you will work in Service Improvement and Efficiency and drive through positive change across our services, positively impacting our children, families, young people and communities. This role will deliver on a range of complex projects across a variety of settings. Our aim is to demonstrate and evidence the impact of improvement and to deliver savings and efficiencies, strengthening the capability to deliver our ambitious priorities, at pace.

This role will help sharpen our focus, harness our strengths, and identify opportunities to ensure our children and young people can thrive. The role will deliver additional problem-solving capacity and the ability to think differently. We are looking for creative, inspired and radical go-getters..

Therefore, this role calls for candidates with a proven track record as an enthusiastic and experienced individual with a background in Local Government; 1st hand knowledge of the key areas (e.g. project management, budget and resource management, strong organisational and problem solving skills) will be required for success.
