The Role

Are you passionate about providing a key finance service to the Children’s Services Senior Management Team?

Are you able to drive efficiencies and savings proposals to ensure the department meets their savings targets?

Are you passionate about making improvements and implementing change?

If yes, we have the perfect role for you!

We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified accountant to join our Children’s Services Finance team supporting the Children’s Education and SEN transport Services and providing the right candidate with the opportunity to diversify their local government experience.

As Finance Business Partner, you will report to the Head of Finance – deputising for them when necessary. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop your people management skills, as you will be liaising with multiple stakeholders. This is an exciting time to join a highly motivated team, which is committed to achieving the visions set for Wandsworth Council.

For this role, you will need to ideally have a background in Finance supporting the Education Service and/or SEN Transport, however this is not essential and the necessary training will be provided. You will also need to have demonstrable experience of closing accounts and using the financial information you have produced to influence decision making.

You will have a proactive approach and willingness to build effective relationships with customers, other departmental teams and key stakeholders across the organisation.  The environment is fast paced, with tight deadlines therefore you will need to be a good communicator, well organised, have excellent written, numerical and analytical skills and sound IT abilities.
