We are seeking to appoint a new Director of Children’s Services who is committed, skilled and passionate about ensuring our children and young people are safe and have the greatest opportunity to thrive. We want someone who has the determination to improve outcomes and continue to shape and lead our pathway of improvement.
Being a DCS is one of the toughest public service roles you can do, and in our place that is certainly the case. Over the next 12 to 18 months, we have huge changes and improvements to plan, design and deliver. We have significant steps we must successively navigate.
Our statutory partners are actively with us, our wider partners are on board and helping, our elected members are determined and committed to see us on an even keel, our corporate team are as one, and our Children’s Services team have a huge investment of time, money, support, and yes (where needed) challenge.
As a highly credible and skilled leader, you will have considerable experience of working in a senior Children’s social care role, and we will do everything we can to enable you to succeed; be the very best DCS you can be. The very best public servant.
If you are as committed as we are about changing the lives of children and young people and would like to discuss this opportunity in more detail, please contact Nick Page (Chief Executive) on 0121 704 6018.
This post will require a DBS check.
This post is covered by the Fluency Duty, as outlined in the Code of Practice on the English language requirements for public sector workers.
