These are truly exciting times in St Albans. We care deeply about our District and our communities and are passionate about making a positive difference to people’s lives. We have undertaken a strategic review to consider new and better ways of working and delivering our services. We have also paid close attention to lessons learned over the last 18 months. This has shaped our Building our Future transformation programme and resulted in the creation of 3 new Strategic Director posts.

Reporting into the Chief Executive you will be responsible for ensuring effective and responsive delivery of our key resident facing services and high-profile priority projects.  You will lead on both community and place related services including planning, housing, community engagement, events (including markets), tourism, parks and green spaces, waste and recycling.  You will also ensure that compliance and regulatory functions are fulfilled in line with statutory requirements. In short, you will lead the delivery of services which most directly impact the experience of visiting, living and working in our District on a day to day basis.
