Job Details

One island. One future.

We’re continuing to build a new future for Jersey that will see people, business and government come together to collaborate in a way they’ve never done before. This approach is called Team Jersey and it’s a milestone in our history: one island, one community, one government – and one exciting future. Now we need talented public health professionals to join our growing Public Health Team for a career-defining opportunity in these new roles: to make change happen in a unique, historic island.

As Deputy Director of Public Health you’ll be supporting our new Director of Public Health, Professor Peter Bradley, in helping us to meet the challenges associated with the Covid 19 pandemic, whilst delivering our vision for a happy and healthy Jersey, reducing inequalities in health outcomes, preventing avoidable ill-health and protecting local communities from public health hazards. The role encompasses an almost unique and comprehensive range of public health functions; everything from defining national policy, to working with healthcare providers and working locally with the diverse range of communities on the island.

Strong partnership working experience, both internally and externally, is essential for both roles, coupled with excellent leadership skills and the required specialist public health registration, or equivalent with GMC, GDC or UK PHR allied to significant experience in all areas of public health practice.
