Wokingham Borough Council is looking for a dynamic experienced strategic finance professional to lead the Council’s finance function. This includes income and assessments, procurement as well as the standard finance activities associated with the role. You will also lead on the Council’s commercialisation agenda.

As deputy section 151 officer you must be a qualified accountant with significant experience in public sector accounting and demonstrable strategic know-how, you will be the strategic financial advisor to the Council’s leadership team and responsible to the Deputy Chief Executive for all the sound financial management of the Council.

About you:

To be considered for the role you must be a qualified accountant of a IFAC recognised body with senior management and leadership experience, some of which would have been gained in the local government sector. Able to demonstrate excellent stakeholder management skills, strong communication and presentation skills you will also have an outstanding track record in delivering a customer focused service.
