We have a great opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Accountant (preferably CIPFA) to act as our deputy Section 151 Officer, and be a key member of  our Corporate Management Team as the finance and property services lead for the Council. If you are looking to move into a more strategic role, helping to shape the organisation for the future, and with responsibility for a wide range of services, we would love to hear from you.

Bassetlaw District Council is an attractive place to live and work. It is the most northerly district of Nottinghamshire; bordering Derbyshire, South Yorkshire and Lincolnshire with two main population centres - Retford and Worksop, each surrounded by a network of picturesque towns and villages. All of our three offices in Worksop, Retford and Carlton Forest are easily accessible from the M1 and A1 and we have a very attractive voluntary discounted car-parking scheme of around £4 per month for our employees.

We are ambitious, creative and innovative. Our vision is to deliver a dynamic district where people want to live, work and prosper and to work in partnership with others to develop a better quality of life for all. We are committed to recruiting a great and talented workforce, creating opportunities for undertaking high profile and varied work and training as well as continuing with the highly flexible working arrangements, which includes continuing to utilise the benefits of home working.

We will value your contributions and in return you’ll receive a number of outstanding benefits including access to family friendly policies, excellent pension scheme with employer contributions, the option to access a shared cost AVC scheme, a free healthcare cash plan,  a generous 35 days holiday  (exclusive of public bank holidays) and an allocated parking space.

The current postholder has been promoted to Director of Corporate Resources, and we now need an innovative and positive individual, with good people skills, to help take the Council forward to our next phase of the organisation’s development.

For an informal discussion please contact the Director of Corporate Resources, David Hill on 01909 533174 or on 07443 179131.
