This is more than a senior finance role - it is an opportunity to join an ambitious and forward-thinking authority, to carve-out and shape a new team, and to be a major part of change that will impact the whole council and all borough residents.

The Role

Reporting into the Executive Director for Resources, you will be a senior member of the Resources Directorate leadership team, and will primarily be responsible for the borough’s investment strategies and their ability to successfully deliver some of the largest and most exciting regeneration schemes in the country.

Acting as a critical friend to colleagues and partners, you will provide a sophisticated combination of challenge and support to ensure that the London Borough of Enfield is investing in the best possible projects, in the best possible way, for the best possible returns.

As this is a new role, initial tasks will include:

  • Reviewing the borough’s current schemes, including Meridian Water (a major regeneration project that will deliver 10,000 new homes and thousands of new jobs with GDV of £6billion) and Snell’s Park Estates (a proposed 2,000 home scheme in Edmonton).
  • Re-assessing all associated risks and governance arrangements, and evaluating upcoming opportunities.
  • Appraising the council’s funding models and treasury strategy.

Candidates

This role calls for a finance professional who is experienced in assessing and/or delivering major regeneration projects, and who can articulate how to ensure affordability and deliverability.

A passion for finance and making a difference will be required for success.

You will be seeking an opportunity to join a cohesive and supportive leadership team that is performing well, and is keen to do even more.
