A space to breathe… a place to grow

The award-winning Borough of Broxbourne is in south eastern Hertfordshire adjacent to north London and Essex where the M25 meets the A10. Its main towns are Hoddesdon, Cheshunt and Waltham Cross. The Lee Valley Regional Park, with its attractive open spaces and modern leisure facilities, including the White-Water Canoe Centre at Waltham Cross, forms the eastern boundary. The Borough is well-connected and ambitious for the future.

The Council is looking for a confident, ambitious and talented individual to drive our economic development through the delivery of a wide-ranging programme of objectives as set out in its Corporate Plan; someone who is ambitious for Broxbourne and wants to reach the very top in local government. Our new £400m development agreement will 'transform' Brookfield Riverside with a mixed-use retail and leisure development to create a brand-new town centre for the Broxbourne borough. Our local plan was adopted last year and includes a business centre at Maxwells Farm, over 250 homes and 100 assisted living units and a range of public realm improvements will provide you with a unique opportunity to grow, add value to Broxbourne and develop your leadership skills too.

As an experienced place shaper, you will need to demonstrate political nous, commercial acumen, collaborative and inspiring leadership and act as an ambassador for the Council.

Our drive for sustained and successful economic development is at the centre of our ambition and you will lead our Borough wide strategic regeneration opportunities, working closely with partners and local members and consulting with residents. Your work will be focussed on delivering long term prosperity for the Borough’s residents as well as high quality environments through increased employment opportunities, positive regeneration of places and delivery of key projects. With significant experience in a senior management role in the public or private sector, you will also bring experience of successfully managing and delivering complex change and improvement programmes and the motivation, influence and drive to deliver on corporate priorities.

If you want to give your ambitions the space to breathe and grow, then please click apply below for further information or contact our retained consultants at Penna, Carol Coyle 07500 887 849 or Pete John on 07701 305617.
