Situated in the south of Lincolnshire, and with excellent access to London, the Midlands and the North of England, South Kesteven has fabulous countryside, thriving market towns, a vibrant arts scene and an ambition to be the best district in which to live, work and visit.

Balanced housing growth is a key part of this ambition, so we are looking for an Assistant Director to join a new team to lead the Council’s housing services, planned and responsive repairs and delivery of the new build housing programme. We have a large, retained stock of 6,700 units and ambitious plans for new developments to support growth in the district and recognise the significant contribution that good quality housing makes to so many wider determinates of health and well-being.

We also need to be more responsive, proactive and flexible – and ‘business as usual’ simply will not cut it anymore. Our stock needs to be safe, we need to develop more robust systems of governance and deliver a housing service that our residents deserve. To achieve this, you will work closely with partners and colleagues, and take an active role in the transformation and modernisation of our landlord services.

We are looking for an individual with the technical competency to lead the operational aspects of the housing service, whether from a local government or housing background, but equally important possess the leadership qualities to influence at a strategic level and support the team through change. You will need to be experienced and resilient, politically astute and have an appetite for innovation and ideas. In return, we offer the opportunity to grow the role, to develop professionally and personally, and play a key part in the delivery of our corporate ambitions.
