Islington is a dynamic, vibrant, accessible central London borough with a proud history. It also suffers from high levels of deprivation which has been compounded by the recent pandemic. As a Council we are committed to creating a fairer Islington – one which will bridge the social divide and create opportunity for all, particularly our most vulnerable residents.

Our new Director of Young Islington will lead on ensuring the welfare and positive development of children, young people and adults are met by directing, leading and managing universal, specialist and targeted services within the council and across the wider multi-agency partnership. You will play a vital role in contributing to the leadership of the directorate as part of the senior management team and take the lead on cross departmental projects and leads.

Reporting to the Corporate Director of People, Carmel Littleton, you will be the lead director for offender management, strategic oversight of the Violence against Women and Girls strategy and Youth Crime strategy as well as any other areas deemed appropriate to the role.

This is an ideal opportunity for an ambitious individual who is passionate about fairness, can deliver change and who wants to make a real difference for the people of Islington.
