School Effectiveness Lead Professional – promoting high quality education and standards in Brent

Brent is a tremendously vibrant London borough where the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline. Spanning both inner and outer London, it is a borough of huge contrasts in terms of its economic, environmental, ethnic and social make up. Brent’s diversity is evident to all who visit our borough and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here.

The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda that better meets the needs of our community so it is an exciting time to join us.

The Post

This is an exceptional opportunity to join the Setting and School Effectiveness Service's senior leadership team.  The service is responsible for maintaining an overview of the effectiveness of all state-funded education provision for children and young people in Brent, and for promoting high standards.

As a School Effectiveness Lead Professional you will provide professional challenge and support to the leaders of a group of schools to help ensure that all of the borough’s children and young people access high quality education and achieve the best possible outcomes, and you will lead the work of the governor support team.

The Person

We are seeking a highly motivated colleague with recent, relevant and substantial senior leadership experience in a culturally diverse school or local authority, with a proven track record of ensuring high quality education provision.

You will have knowledge of the current legislative requirements in which schools and their governing boards operate, and of effective practice.  The ability to make sound judgements on the basis of evidence, identify key issues accurately, understand indicators of performance, and interpret data accurately is essential.

You will be able to show initiative, tenacity and adaptability in order to influence others and move an agenda forward, and you will have personal and professional credibility.
