The Grenfell Tower Public Inquiry (GTPI) is an independent public inquiry established to examine the circumstances surrounding the fire at Grenfell Tower on the night of 14th June 2017. The GTPI is now extending its search for  a Local Authority Assessor for Phase 2 of the Inquiry, which is examining the causes of these events, including how Grenfell Tower came to be in a condition which allowed the fire to spread.

LOCAL AUTHORITY ASSESSOR, GRENFELL TOWER PUBLIC INQUIRY

£ Daily rate

The Assessor will provide advice to the Chairman and Panel Members. They will be asked to take part in Inquiry proceedings by reviewing relevant evidence, and may also be asked to advise the Panel on matters such as identifying potential avenues of inquiry within its Terms of Reference. Assessors do not give evidence to the Inquiry, nor are they asked questions or cross-examined at the Inquiry.

This is a role for a candidate with in-depth understanding and expertise of the operation of local authorities, developed through a successful and high-level career in local government. You will be familiar with best practice in areas relevant to the Inquiry’s terms of reference and should have experience of operating at a senior executive level for a Council representing an urban, metropolitan and ethnically diverse community.
