In this critical role, you’ll lead transformation, improving the performance of the Council, thinking commercially and bringing change and innovation. You’ll be integral to the strategic development of policies and the introduction of fresh approaches. At the same time, you’ll play your part in the Corporate Management Team and support the Chief Executive.

It’s an exciting opportunity to lead Council-wide initiatives and identify opportunities for improvement. And, in addition to acting as change catalyst, you’ll be responsible for Finance, Communications, Business Support, Governance, Democratic and Legal, IT and HR and Organisational Development. You’ll therefore have a varied and challenging role, where you could be shaping corporate communications one day and leading cultural change the next. Whatever the task or project, you’ll be inspired to give your best.

Degree-educated (or equivalent) you’ll have a breadth of experience as a successful senior manager. You’ve delivered strategic development at a senior level, led diverse areas and provided high quality services. Crucially, you can bring change not just in the way we the work, but in the way we think and behave. Persuasive, calm and positive, you foster partnerships, advise confidently and influence culture shifts. Politically smart and strategically-minded, you can network and negotiate.
