Employer
Nottingham City Council
Location
Nottingham, Nottinghamshire
Salary
circa £103,000
Closing date

Nottingham is an innovative, vibrant and fast growing city. Citizens are at the heart of everything we do and it is the role of the council to ensure that everyone is given the opportunity to lead healthy, independent, and enriched lives. We want our people, especially the elderly and those with disabilities, to be enabled to live self-sufficient lives, be connected with their communities and restore independence.

We are really excited to offer a unique opportunity to join our Leadership Team as our new Director for Adult Health and Social Care to drive this key agenda forward.  Reporting to the Corporate Director for People and working closely with Councillors, Officers, and Partners to improve health and wellbeing outcomes for the people of Nottingham.

We are looking for a motivated senior leader with a credible track-record of improving outcomes. You will

  • Provide authentic leadership and clear direction
  • Be responsible for driving our ambitious transformation programme, placing citizens at the centre of our services
  • Bring strength to the provision of care and support
  • Ensure people have choice and control of their lives.

We are especially looking for new ideas that will challenge how we do things, ensuring all of our communities are included in the opportunities of the future and utilising the capacity for care that exists within our neighbourhoods.

We are interested in speaking to individuals with experience of delivering social care and health services in communities. Delivering cultural change and innovation will be critical, a strong commitment to working in partnership and our Integrated Care Partnership is also required. You will have effective leadership skills and strategic vision, and the ability to work with stakeholders and partners across our system to deliver exemplar services for Nottingham’s residents.

We are looking for someone who is dynamic, enthusiastic, passionate and visionary; someone who demands commitment and results but is able to lead, inspire and motivate people with respect and empathy.

We pride ourselves for our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion. We strive to have a workforce that reflects our city’s diversity and this is increasingly important in our decision-making senior leadership roles. To help us achieve our ambition for workforce diversity, we particularly want to hear from candidates who are from Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic communities or candidates that identify with having a disability.
