We are significantly changing the way we work at Slough across the board and in particular, our Children’s services. This will include transitioning our Slough Children’s Services Trust to become a local authority owned company, and combining the roles of Executive Director for Children in the Council with the Chief Executive role for the new Local Authority owned company into one-brand new role.

Earlier this year we agreed with the DfE that there would be significant value and benefit in making strategic change to our current operations in order to improve our business processes where possible, bring our operations even closer together in line with our ‘One Slough’ vision across all public services, and ultimately lead to the successful delivery of our Children’s Services within this brand-new company. Whilst the current Trust led successfully on our most recent Ofsted inspection (March 2019) achieving a rating of “Requires Improvement to be Good” we recognised that the development of a more cohesive and collaborative plan across the board at Slough would be the most effective way forward to achieving an even better future.

Very much in the early stages of creating this company and model (we don’t have a name for it yet) we are looking for a fresh-faced and aspirational individual to champion a collaborative culture and drive improvements in Children’s Services in all its forms across the whole of Children’s Services in Slough, including the services delivered by the Council and those delivered by the Slough Children’s Services Trust (the Trust).

A natural leader, outcome focused and in possession of savvy navigational and facilitation skills with which to see the bigger picture you will have the unique opportunity to contribute to the overall formation and direction our new company takes as we work towards our key milestone of 1^st April 2021; our target date for the launch.
