If you pride yourself on high performance, innovation and excellence as a leader, this is an exciting opportunity to play a key strategic role in the future of Dudley Council.

Dudley Council is among the top three most improved local authorities in the country and serves more than 320,000 residents and manages a net budget of £235 million. The borough's future is exciting as we embark on numerous multi-million pound regeneration schemes in the coming years, including the development of the £450 million Midland Metro coming into the borough as well as the Very Light Rail, the Institute of Technology and a new bus interchange.

As Deputy Chief Executive, you will be responsible for ensuring the council achieves its goals in relation to economic growth and local infrastructure, taking responsibility for the delivery, improvement, management and performance of a portfolio of council services and major projects.

You will support the Chief Executive in setting the overall strategic direction of the organisation and work collaboratively with our vibrant and ambitious senior executive team to ensure we move the council forward. You will also deputise for the Chief Executive when required, providing strategic leadership and acting as an ambassador for the borough and the organisation, while ensuring the successful and effective delivery of all council services.

Substantial and successful experience of working at an advanced strategic level within a public sector organisation is essential, as is experience of effectively leading and developing major services that are concerned with the urban environment, economic development, regeneration and housing.

If you are a visionary leader who is ready for your next big challenge, with the personal drive to achieve excellent results for the council, our residents, businesses and partners we would be delighted to hear from you.
