In Surrey, we are embarking on a new and exciting way of working, creating a genuine partnership that will make a positive difference to local people and help join up health and social care. The Surrey Heartlands ICS is seen as one of the most innovative and high-profile partnerships between health and social care in the country. We are incredibly ambitious about improving the health and wellbeing of our residents and building prevention and early intervention programmes to stop needs escalating. Reporting to our Executive Director of Health, Wellbeing & Adult Social Care, this role will be key to making it happen.

As part of the Council’s extended leadership team, this newly created role will help transform the way we operate. Reporting to the Executive Director of Health, Wellbeing & Adult Social Care and with a dotted line to the Director of Strategic Commissioning (Learning & Communities), you will play a key part in the transformation agenda to deliver innovative solutions that improve residents’ lives.

We need to reimagine the way we manage the market and be more intelligent and creative in the way we responds to care needs and help people who need our services to live independently, in their own homes, as long as possible.

This role requires ambition, innovation and a solid track record of leading a commissioning function in a complex environment.
