We are already a good organisation and striving to be a great one. The sector is evolving at pace, and we are seeking talented individuals to join us in ensuring that Huntingdonshire and its people and places are given every opportunity to benefit from this ambition.

Huntingdonshire is developing at an exciting pace at the heart of the internationally renowned Cambridgeshire economy, hosting the largest Enterprise Zone in the UK. It is a district that is determined to realise the growth potential of the Oxford to Cambridge ARC, whilst working collaboratively with public sector partners (and the mayoral Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority context). The strength of our partnership arrangements is unique and something we place considerable effort into deepening and benefiting from.

This is a new post, key to the council’s delivery agenda, particularly relating to growth and infrastructure.  Reporting to the Corporate Director, you will shape this role together.  As a single lead, without a direct team, you will need to work collaboratively across the council and with partners to deliver the programme of work.  This exciting new role offers the direct opportunity to really re-shape the District for the future, taking advantage of the ‘Prospectus for Growth’ agenda across all four market towns and leading on potential for ‘Quarter’ redevelopment opportunities on council assets.

You will be directly responsible for identifying, developing and driving implementation of a large programme of key interventions and projects, whilst also overseeing effective progress of the Council’s wider capital projects.  You will need to demonstrate a creative approach, a strong track record of delivering outcomes at pace, on time and on budget. As an experienced project and programme manager, you will need to generate new ideas and demonstrate the ability to build and secure effective stakeholder partnerships.

As a strong and ambitious council, we are implementing further transformation to realign how we deliver efficient and effective services, maximising productivity to shape our district. This work is all underpinned with valuable customer insight and a strong digital and technology-driven agenda. Alongside key deliverables, we place the Council’s values; inspiring, collaborative, accountable, respectful and enterprising (icare) at the core of how do businesses across every service in the organisation.

As an organisation we have an enviable Medium Term Financial position, solid service delivery, and now the structure in place to enable us to take advantage and respond to the opportunities to extend our influence beyond service delivery, and into the strategic shaping of Huntingdonshire as a place and the wider public service partnership. We are on a change journey and are seeking brave and talented individuals who are confident in their ability to come and drive this journey with us

We want people who bring innovation and creativity, whilst not losing sight of delivering initiatives that drive the aspiration and economic success of our people and places.  We need skilled communicators, who can influence within a complex partner environment and identify and capture opportunities for organisational success.  We would love to hear from you if you are as passionate as we are about driving the possibilities for Huntingdonshire.

Above all it is essential that you demonstrate behaviours in line with our values and a passion and a commitment to continually seek to innovate and develop our workforce, which will in turn enable us to succeed in our strategic ambitions.
