Since it was established in October 2014, the workforce at Doncaster Children’s Services Trust has achieved great things. As well as attaining the overall Ofsted ‘good’ rating for its services in January 2018, we have since had our fostering and adoption services and two children’s homes rated as ‘outstanding’. But we are not stopping there – our ambition is to get all our services to ‘outstanding’, and we want this to be sooner rather than later.

The Trust has recently become an ALMO of Doncaster Council, and we are currently seeking a new Chief Executive who will report to the Trust Chair and oversee a dynamic leadership team, working closely with Doncaster Council and strategic partners as a system leader committed to the delivery of the ‘Team Doncaster’ ambitions for the area. The postholder will also work closely with our highly motivated and skilled Young Advisers who influence all aspects of our approach and help drive our improvement journey.

We see this as a great opportunity to lead and develop an already strong organisation in order to ensure that our most vulnerable children and young people are able to thrive, and also ensure that Doncaster thrives too. You will be a systems thinker with experience of leading and delivering high quality children’s social care services, the skills to bring the workforce on the improvement journey, and the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of partners.

Rather, to succeed in the role, you will need an open, outward facing and engaging leadership style as well as a relentless focus on the quality of practice.
