Improving population health, and preventing ill health, is a core responsibility of Public Health. Tobacco Control and Treatment play a crucial part in improving the health of our communities and in reducing health inequalities.

The Royal Greenwich Public Health team has an exciting opportunity for the role of Senior Public Health Manger (Tobacco Control and Treatment Services). This is a new senior position within a high performing Public Health department, reporting to the Head of Health Improvement.

The post will provide leadership and expertise, managing the tobacco control and treatment programme for Greenwich. Starting with developing a comprehensive cross-agency Tobacco Control Strategy, they will lead have responsibility for developing and overseeing evidence based tobacco control programmes including services to support smokers to quit. The post holder needs to ensure that commissioned providers deliver effective and efficient services; and working with partners in the Council and across London to develop programmes to reduce the impact of tobacco on our local community. 

The post holder will manage and be responsible for the performance of the Tobacco Treatment team and associated budgets which include staff working as specialist practitioners within maternity, acute and mental health settings as well as workplaces and community based treatment clinics.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic individual with extensive knowledge and experience in tobacco control and treatment services to work within a creative and dynamic team making a significant contribution to improving the health of the population of Greenwich.
