Southend-on-Sea Borough Council has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Prevention and Locality Commissioning Manager professional to join their team. Your new role

As the Prevention and Locality Commissioning Manager, you will be responsible for the commissioning and delivery of a range of prevention projects and initiatives across the health and care network.  You will take a supportive and leadership role in developing relationships with health partners, local schools, businesses, the third sector and the local community to build a healthier community and personal resilience thus enabling the integrated teams to deliver preventative approaches.  Key areas of focus include: ensuring that commissioning strategies are developed and delivered to meet the priorities for improving the health and care within Southend Localities;  actively support the development and delivery of the prevention and locality commissioning work programme; ensure that all commissioned services deliver a person centred approach that promotes prevention, independence, choice and control and puts dignity at the heart of care and support and ensuring that commissioners pursue the highest standards of care to secure best value services.  

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful for this role you will need to have a working understanding of adult social care/the care industry and a strong understanding of current national policy and guidance in this space. With a track record of working in a complex environment, you will be able to demonstrate your ability to develop effective partnerships across professional, service and organisational boundaries.  Excellent influencing and relationship building skills are required with the ability to engage and secure buy-in across a diverse range of stakeholders essential.
