Accountable for creating a genuinely shared civic endeavour between Camden’s council, citizens and communities, you’ll work collaboratively to develop new and innovative approaches to participation and engagement. Strong partnership working within Camden, across London, and nationally will be a key success factor.

You’ll be an impressive and accomplished professional, with significant experience in a public service or related organisation, and a clear track record of leading excellent services and influencing at a senior level. Political skill is essential. You’ll be at home with our listening, evidence based culture culture, which tests new approaches and is instinctively reflective: which genuinely puts citizens at the heart of what we do; and which works at system level to innovate in meaningful ways. Highly effective leadership skills are essential, and specific experience of multi-agency working on issues such as community safety, voluntary organisations and community cohesion would be a distinct advantage.
