Lincolnshire County Council is looking to recruit a Local Highways Manager, a key managerial role within our Highways Services Team, responsible for the planning and delivery of local team functions in one of the four highways areas on behalf of the County Council as a Highways Authority.

About the Team

Lincolnshire County Council's Local Highways Management team provide a front-line service and essential maintenance to one of the biggest highways networks in the country. There are four Local Highways Teams covering the North, East, South and West of the county who work in partnership with both internal Operational Asset Management teams and external contractors within the Lincolnshire Highways Alliance. LCC is recognised as a leading light in the Highways Sector, becoming one of the first 2 "Band 3" authorities in the country in the Department for Transport incentivised funding, as well as recently winning the Highways Management award at the MJ awards.

About the Role

The post holder will identify and prioritise Highways maintenance schemes in their area, reviewing and allocating the best use of available resources, now and for the future, in a creative and sustainable way. They will be responsible for the overall response to Highways-related emergency events within an area, co-ordinating the production and prioritisation of pragmatic and holistic solutions.

Through developing and maintaining strong, positive relationships with local communities, Elected Members and stakeholders across all service areas, the post holder will contribute to a conscientious culture of proactive, future-focused service delivery that is accountable and engaging to our customers. About You

We are seeking someone who combines excellent technical knowledge with a dedication to the customer; driven by data and evidence to take ownership of one of the most important functions in the county. With a passion for customer care, brilliant communicational skills and an understanding of issues affecting Highways Services, you will be able to play a key role in the delivery of essential services in Lincolnshire.
