Southend-on-Sea Borough Council has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Local Development Manager professional to join their team. Southend-on-Sea Borough Council employs around 1,700 staff, who work together to deliver a wide range of services that meet the needs of those who live, work and visit the area. Your new role

As the Locality Development manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that there is a local bespoke consolidated offer for the locality.  You will be responsible for ensuring that local expertise is developed and that working relationships are developed and fostered with local schools, the Local Authority, local businesses, the third sector, local communities and social care to coproduce and design an environment that encourages independence, prevention and resilience. Specifically, the Locality Manager will focus on: the link between the system and Localities; the development of the integrated Locality teams; population needs assessments to enable allocation of resource; and the link between Localities and the aspirations of Southend Borough Council in terms of Locality working. 

You will also be expected to lead on a range of projects and initiatives across the health and care network to embed community integrated Locality team initiatives and deliver sustainable integrated working.  Responsibilities will include leading and working as part of a team to develop, plan and implement projects, responsibilities will also involve a range of other related activities.  In addition, you will be responsible for the coaching, develop and training locality team members to ensure consistency of practice and breadth of thinking.  

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful for this role you will need to have equivalent experience and possess an excellent understanding of current NHS national, regional and local priorities. With a track record of working in complex environments, you will be able to demonstrate your ability to develop effective partnerships across professional, service, community and organisational boundaries.  With demonstrable experience of coaching, developing and managing diverse teams, you will possess excellent leadership and team management skills and be able to influence and build relationships at all levels of an organisation.
