About the Role 

We're looking for an Assistant Director of Growth to play a leading role in our Growth activities, working to establish Lincolnshire as a place that works hard for its residents, workers, investors and visitors, through investment and project management. Reporting to the Executive Director of Place, this role is extremely flexible. You'll be involved with many sectors of Lincolnshire County Council's operations and able to have significant influence on both day-to-day running, and generation-defining projects. You'll drive a number of teams that are essential to Lincolnshire's ambitions for growth, setting out industrial and place-based strategies, managing project budgets and funding streams, contract negotiations, ensuring the projects are delivered to a high standard and advising across a variety of challenges.  

Collaboration is essential at LCC, you’ll work alongside the Assistant Directors of Highways and Communities to deliver. Beyond this, culture and personal development opportunities are a large priority for us, so you will structure a development framework for your team, giving them the opportunity to improve their skills and help us build a talented, collaborative workforce, equipped to serve the people of Lincolnshire.

About You

You'll need experience of management at a senior level and strong business and political acumen, with a relevant degree and a history of roles involving contract management and the ability to lead a team effectively. This role is all about investing in the county effectively and requires a lot of mental capacity and decision making on a regular basis, and at pace. You'll be comfortable overseeing a huge variety of sectors that the council manages, bringing an insightful economic perspective and advising accordingly across public and private sector interests. You will be an active champion of Team Lincolnshire, the private sector alliance that seeks to deliver growth in the county. 

You'll be representing the county to all kinds of stakeholders nationally and internationally, in a business context as well as interacting with the community, so you'll need to exhibit strong negotiation skills as well as an ability to form strong, lasting business relationships. This is a great chance for an innovative thinker to develop the county they live in as well as drive and motivate the people around them.
